Create DLL and Delphi datamodule

In creating a dll can you add a datamodule with an ADO connection to it?
If you can, is there anything that I should know? I have added a datamodule to my dll with an ado connection and some queries, but when the dll tries to access the ado connection it comes up with a read access violation.
